Phil Sandro is HECUA's Senior Program Director and Primary Faculty for Metro Urban Studies Term. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the New School for Social Research and has taught experiential urban studies programs for over twelve years. Dr. Sandro has an impressive record of involvement in urban public policy and social issues. He provides exceptional program leadership and plays a significant role across the organization in developing quality pedagogical practice.

Among his many contributions, most recently Dr. Sandro led the Norway program in the Fall of 2003. During his term there he helped develop an on-going curriculum focused on contemporary issues, including identity and immigration. He also trained a group of faculty on experiential methods and community partnership. In addition, Dr. Sandro led faculty workshops at both the University of Oslo and Diakonhjemmet College on experiential methods and evaluation.
