Each Wednesday we compile a list of jobs that we think might interest our alumni. In the past, this list has existed informally on our twitter account (@hecua_offcampus – follow us!) using the hashtag #hecuacareerboard. From now on we’ll also post an annotated list on our website. If you’re an employer and you’d like to submit a job, email Laney Ohmans at lohmans<@>hecua.org with a brief description of the position and why it would be a good fit for a HECUA student or alumni. If you’re a student and you’d like our help finding a job, email Laney with a brief description of what you’re looking for!
Conservation advocacy group Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness is looking for a summer education intern.
FBWW is looking for a current graduate or undergraduate student for this Minneapolis-based position. You’d earn a $1,000 stipend and be responsible for designing the organization’s Wilderness Kit curriculum. This tool is designed to “teach about the uniqueness and complexities of wilderness, specifically the BWCAW.” They’d like you to have experience developing curriculum and an interest in wilderness education.
Our friends at St. Stephen’s Human Services are hiring a Development and Communications Coordinator.
This would be a good fit for an extremely detail-oriented person who is beginning their career in non-profit development and/or communications. They’d like applicants to have a Bachelor’s Degree (although work experience can substitute for this), the ability to “work respectfully in a diverse environment,” and familiarity with online giving platforms. If you care deeply about ending homelessness and you want to raise money for folks who have been working steadily towards that goal, this is the job for you.
Neighborhood House is hiring a Communications & Digital Content Specialist.

A gifted writer who uses persuasive language to propel people to action. A bold analyst, confident using research and evaluation to discover winning strategies. A social justice warrior, passionate about creating a stronger, more-inclusive community.” They’d also like you to have significant experience with digital platforms, familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
Corcoran Neighborhood Association is hiring a Community Development Manager.
They’d like you to have all the normal administrative stuff (ability to communicate clearly, strong management skills) plus: “experience in one or more of the following: community planning, real estate development, and/or small business development and support. A demonstrated interest and ability to learn the skills needed to excel in the work outlined above.” This job sounds interesting and challenging, but it’s hard to summarize.
