Kari Pederson Behrends has been a part of the HECUA Recruitment Team since August of 2009. She is both a 2009 graduate from Macalester College and a 2007 alumna of HECUA’s Scandinavian Urban Studies Term (now The New Norway: Globalization, Identity, and the Politics of Belonging). Kari’s undergraduate career melded HECUA’s themes of social justice and multiculturalism with her work in psychology, art history and educational studies. At HECUA, Kari specializes in the HECUA USA programs focusing on Agriculture, Environment, and Justice issues, as well as HECUA Abroad programs located in Norway and Northern Ireland. Additionally, Kari enjoys contributing to HECUA's online representation and Youtube portfolio. She recently returned from a trip to the south of France with her mother, a High School French teacher, and 15 teenagers -- it was exhausting but Monaco was ‘Nice.’ Her other travels include Scandinavia and the British Isles in Europe, Australia’s Pacific coast and Tasmania, Tokyo and Kyoto, and the Keflavík airport in Iceland.
