City Arts
Spring Semester

Total Credits
The City Arts program provides 4 course credits. Courses and credits appear on the transcript as Augsburg credits and are included in GPA.

General Education Credits
CITY ARTS has been pre-approved to fulfill the following Perspectives:
- The City
- Intercultural Awareness 1
- Aesthetics
Satisfactory completion of all CITY ARTS courses is required to meet the Perspectives listed.

Major Credits
Students from all majors are encouraged to participate in CITY ARTS.

Theater majors may use one internship course credit as a major elective.
English majors may use the reading seminar and possibly the internship course credits as major electives. Women’s Studies majors (through ACTC) may use the two internship course credits toward the major. Discuss criteria for the internship with your major advisor to ensure that it is appropriately related to women’s studies.

Other majors that have participated in CITY ARTS and received major credit are:
Art History o Communications o Studio Art o Urban Studies
Discuss with your faculty advisor specific credit distribution in relation to your degree program and credits you need for the major, general education and/or electives.

The Center for Global Education will register CITY ARTS participants for:
INS 330 Field Seminar: Emerging Art and Urban Cultures
INS 331 The Politics of Artistic Expression
INS 399 Internship (2 course credits)

Campus Deadlines
Students planning to study off campus spring semester must contact the Augsburg Center for Global Education by September 30 to apply for permission to study off-campus.

HECUA Deadline
Applications for CITY ARTS are due in the HECUA office by December 1. Early application is encouraged as the program may fill before the deadline. Applications are reviewed as they are received. Late applications are considered on a space available basis.
