(CILA)
Fall Semester
The following information is intended to assist
students and advisors in the distribution
and approval of credits for participation
in HECUA programs. Contact HECUA Admissions

Total Credits
Each semester program provides 4 course credits.
Courses and credits appear on the transcript
as Augsburg credits and are included in the
GPA.
General Education Credits
Programs have been pre-approved to fulfill
the following Perspectives:
CILA: The City; Social World 1 or 2; Intercultural
Awareness 1, and either 2 or 3
Satisfactory completion of all program courses
is required to meet the Perspectives listed.
Major Credits
Students from all majors are encouraged to
participate in HECUA Latin America programs.
Majors that have participated and may have
received major credit include:
CILA: Social Work -Spanish -Urban Studies
Discuss with your faculty advisor specific
credit distribution in relation to your degree
program and credits you need for the major,
general education and/or electives.

Registration
The Center for Global Education will register
participants at Augsburg for:

INS 366 Seminar: Community Participation and
Social Change
INS 399 Internship (2 course credits)
INS 499 Independent Study
Campus Deadlines
Students planning to study off campus fall
semester must contact the Augsburg Center
for Global Education by March 1 to apply for
permission to study off-campus; for spring
semester programs, by September 30.
HECUA Deadline
Applications for CILA are due in the HECUA
office by March 15. Early application is encouraged
as the program may fill before the deadline.
Applications are reviewed as they are received.
Late applications are considered on a space
available basis.
