Metro Urban Studies Term (MUST)
Fall Semester/Spring Semester

Total Credits
The Metro Urban Studies Term (MUST) provides 4 course credits. Courses and credits appear on the transcript as Augsburg credits and are included in GPA.

General Education Credits
MUST has been pre-approved to fulfill the following Perspectives:
- The City
- Social World 1 or 2
Satisfactory completion of all MUST courses is required to meet the Perspectives listed.

Major Credits
Students from all majors are encouraged to participate in MUST.

Urban Studies majors may use all 4 course credits toward the major. Criteria for the internship must be discussed with the major advisor to ensure that it is appropriately related to urban studies.

o Urban Studies

Discuss with your faculty advisor specific credit distribution in relation to your degree program and credits you need for the major, general education and/or electives.

Registration
The Center for Global Education will register MUST participants for:
INS 358 Reading Seminar: Diversity and Unequal Urban Development
INS 359 Field Seminar: Urban Inequality and Social Change
INS 399 Internship (2 course credits)

Campus Deadlines
Students planning to study off campus fall semester must contact the Augsburg Center for Global Education by March 1 to apply for permission to study off-campus; for spring semester by September 30.

HECUA Deadline
Applications for MUST are due in the HECUA office for fall semester by April 15, for spring semester by December 1. Early application is encouraged as the program may fill before the deadline. Applications are reviewed as they are received. Late applications are considered on a space available basis.
