City Arts
Spring Semester

The following information is intended to assist students and advisors in the distribution and approval of credits for participation in HECUA programs. Contact HECUA Admissions with any questions (651/646-8832, 800/554-1089, [email protected].)

Total Credits
The City Arts program provides 16 total credits. Courses and credits appear on the transcript as Concordia credits. The 8 seminar credits are included in GPA. The 8 internship credits will appear on the transcript as P or N.

General Education Credits
Students who participate in a HECUA semester may use 12 of the 16 credits to meet General Education Goal Area Requirements in the following areas: aesthetic, civic, global, interpersonal, intellectual or integrative. They may use the remaining four credits for an internship or for elective credits in the major. (Students will request the credit distribution on the internship application form available in the Student Academic Advising Office.)

Major Credits
Students from all majors are encouraged to participate in CITY ARTS.

Majors that have participated include:
o Art
o Elementary Education.
o English

CITY ARTS credits have been approved for the Community Arts major/minor.

To participate in CITY ARTS, students must register at the Concordia registrar’s office for:

Campus Deadlines
Students planning to enroll in CITY ARTS Spring semester should meet with the HECUA campus representative by November 1 to discuss the program and application process.

HECUA Deadline
Applications for CITY ARTS are due in the HECUA office by December 1. Early application is encouraged as the program may fill before the deadline. Applications are reviewed as they are received. Late applications are considered on a space available basis.
