Metro Urban Studies Term (MUST)
Fall Semester/Spring Semester
The following information is intended to assist
students and advisors in the distribution
and approval of credits for participation
in HECUA programs. Contact HECUA Admissions

Total Credits
The Metro Urban Studies Term (MUST) provides
16 total credits. Courses and credits appear
on the transcript as Concordia credits. The
8 seminar credits are included in GPA. The
8 internship credits will appear on the transcript
as P or N.
General Education Credits
Students who participate in a HECUA semester
may use 12 of the 16 credits to meet General
Education Goal Area Requirements in the following
areas: aesthetic, civic, global, interpersonal,
intellectual or integrative. They may use
the remaining four credits for an internship
or for elective credits or for elective credits
in the major. (Students will request the credit
distribution on the internship application
form available in the Student Academic Advising
Office.)
Major Credits
Students from all majors are encouraged to
participate in MUST.
Majors that have participated in MUST are:
o Christian Education
o Sociology
Discuss with your faculty advisor specific
credit distribution in relation to your degree
program and credits you need for the major,
general education and/or electives.
Registration
To participate in MUST, students must register
at the Concordia registrars office for:

that 50% of the wage be paid by the internship

Campus Deadlines
Students planning to enroll in MUST fall semester
should meet with the HECUA campus representative
by March 15 to discuss the program and application
process; for spring semester by November 1.
HECUA Deadline
Applications for MUST are due in the HECUA
office for fall semester by April 15; for
spring semester by December 1. Early application
is encouraged as the program may fill before
the deadline. Applications are reviewed as
they are received. Late applications are considered
on a space available basis.
