(CILA)
Fall Semester
The following information is intended to assist
students and advisors in the distribution
and approval of credits for participation
in HECUA programs. Contact HECUA Admissions

Total Credits
Each HECUA program provides 4 course credits,
which are awarded as transfer credits; not
included in the Gustavus GPA.
Core Requirements
CILA can each fulfill one course of the G
(foreign culture) or the GN (non-western foreign
culture) requirement.
Major Credits
Students from all majors are encouraged to
participate in the Latin America programs.
Majors that have participated include:

o Nursing o Peace Studies o Sociology o Spanish
o Womens Studies
Discuss with your faculty advisor specific
credit distribution in relation to your degree
and credits you need for the major, core requirements
and/or electives.

Campus Deadlines
Students planning to study in CILA fall semester
must submit their applications to the Gustavus
Office of International Education by March
1 for permission to study off-campus.
HECUA Deadline
Applications for CILA are due in the HECUA
office by March 15. Applications are reviewed
as they are received. Late applications are
considered on a space available basis.
