Metro Urban Studies Term (MUST)

students and advisors in the distribution
and approval of credits for participation

Total Credits
The Metro Urban Studies Term (MUST) provides
4 course credits that are awarded as transfer
credits; not included in the Gustavus GPA.
Core Requirements
MUST does not fulfill any Gustavus core requirements.
(Credits may be used toward the major and/or
as general elective credits.)
Major Credits
Students from all majors are encouraged to
participate in MUST.
Majors that have participated in MUST and
received major credit are:
Anthropology o Geography o Peace Studies o
Political Science o Sociology
Other majors that have participated or should
consider MUST are:
Environmental Studies o History o Psychology
o Speech and Communication
Studio Art o Womens Studies
Discuss with your faculty advisor specific
credit distribution in relation to your degree
program and credits you need for the major
and/or electives.
Registration
To participate in MUST, students must register
at Gustavus Adolphus for:

Students on academic probation are not eligible
for MUST.

Campus Deadlines
Students planning to enroll in MUST fall semester
should meet with the HECUA campus representative
by March 15 to discuss the program and the
application process; for spring semester by
November 1.
HECUA Deadline
Applications for MUST are due in the HECUA
office for fall semester by April 15; for
spring semester by December 1. Early application
is encouraged as the program may fill before
the deadline. Applications are reviewed as
they are received. Late applications are considered
on a space available basis.
