City Arts
Spring Semester

The following information is intended to assist students and advisors in the distribution and approval of credits for participation in HECUA programs. Contact HECUA Admissions with any questions (651/646-8832, 800/554-1089, [email protected]).

Total Credits
The City Arts program provides 4 course credits. Courses and credits appear on the transcript as Hamline credits and are included in GPA.

The Hamline Plan
CITY ARTS has been approved to fulfill the following requirements:

Major Credits
Students from all majors are encouraged to participate in CITY ARTS.

Women’s Studies majors (through ACTC) may use the two internship course credits toward the major. Discuss criteria for the internship with your major advisor to ensure that it is appropriately related to women’s studies.

Majors that have participated in CITY ARTS are:
o Communications
o International Studies
o Philosophy
o Political Science
o Religion
o Special Education
o Theater
o Urban Studies

Discuss with your faculty advisor specific credit distribution in relation to your degree program and credits you need for the major, Hamline Plan, and/or electives.

Registration
The student need not register at Hamline for the HECUA term. HECUA submits registration on the student’s behalf to the Hamline registrar.

Campus Deadlines
Students planning to study off campus spring semester must submit an application to the Hamline International Programs Center (IPC) by March 20.

HECUA Deadline
Applications for CITY ARTS are due in the HECUA office by December 1. Early application is encouraged as the program may fill before the deadline. Applications are reviewed as they are received. Late applications are considered on a space available basis and approval of credits for participation in HECUA programs.
