Metro Urban Studies Term (MUST)
Fall Semester/Spring Semester

Total Credits
The Metro Urban Studies Term (MUST) provides 4 course credits. Courses and credits appear on the transcript as St. Olaf credits but are not included in GPA.

General Education Credits
MUST has been pre-approved to fulfill the following requirements:
- HBS-E: Studies in Human Behavior and Society
- WRI: Writing
- MCS-D: Multi-cultural Studies Component
All courses are Level II or Level III.

Major Credits
Students from all majors are encouraged to participate in MUST.

Majors that have participated in MUST and received major credit are:
o Theater
o Women’s Studies

Other majors that have participated in MUST are:
o Biology
o Philosophy
o Psychology
o Social Work
o Speech Communication

Discuss with your faculty advisor specific credit distribution in relation to your degree program and credits you need for the major, general education and/or electives.

Registration
Students will be registered at St. Olaf for HECUA-MUST.

Campus Deadlines

Students planning to study off campus fall semester must submit applications to the St. Olaf Int’l & Off-Campus Studies office by March 1 in the prior academic year.

HECUA Deadline
St. Olaf will forward your completed application to HECUA for fall semester by HECUA’s April 15 deadline; for spring semester by HECUA’s December 1 deadline. Early application is encouraged as the program may fill before the deadline. Applications are reviewed as they are received. Late applications are considered on a space available basis.
