Scandinavian Urban Studies Term (SUST)

The following information is intended to assist
students and advisors in the distribution
and approval of credits for participation
in HECUA programs. Contact HECUA Admissions

Total Credits
The Scandinavian Urban Studies Term (SUST)
provides 16 semester credits. Courses and
credits appear on the transcript as St. Thomas
credits and are included in GPA.
General Education Credits
SUST may fulfill some General Education Requirements;
inquire with the respective chair for approval.
Major Credits
Students from all majors are encouraged to
participate in SUST. Credits earned through
HECUA courses can be applied to major requirements
in the liberal arts.
Discuss with your faculty advisor specific
credit distribution in relation to your degree
program and credits you need for the major,
general education and/or electives.

o Social Work o Visual Communication
Registration
To participate in SUST, students will be registered
at St. Thomas for 300 -Study Abroad. This
is done by the International Education Center,
not by the student via MURPHY.

Campus Deadline
Students planning to study off campus fall
semester must submit application to the St.
Thomas International Education Center before
March 15.
HECUA Deadline
Applications for SUST are due in the HECUA
office by March 15. Early application is encouraged
as the program may fill before the deadline.
Applications are reviewed as they are received.
Late applications are considered on a space
available basis.
