Scandinavian Urban Studies Term (SUST)
Fall Semester
The following information is intended to assist
students and advisors in the distribution
and approval of credits for participation
in HECUA programs. Contact HECUA Admissions

Total Credits
The Scandinavian Urban Studies Term (SUST)
provides 16 semester hours. Courses and credits
appear on the transcript as Viterbo credits
and are included in GPA.
Core Curriculum Credits
SUST fulfills the following requirements:
- Literature
- Social Science
- Liberal Studies elective
Major Credits
Students from all majors are encouraged to
participate in SUST.
Students may receive major or minor credit
for SUST in:
- Sociology
Other majors that have participated in SUST
include:
- English
Discuss with your faculty advisor specific
credit distribution in relation to your degree
program and credits you need for the major,
general education and/or electives.
Registration
To participate in SUST, students must register
at Viterbo for:
- GLST 200 Off-Campus Study (Freshmen and
Sophomores)
- GLST 400 Off-Campus Study (Juniors and Seniors)

Campus Deadlines
Students planning to study off campus fall
semester must contact Viterbos Office
for Global Education by February 1 to apply
for permission to study off-campus the following
academic year. (Note: This is one month earlier
than the HECUA deadline.)
HECUA Deadline
Applications for SUST are due in the HECUA
office by March 15. Early application is encouraged
as the program may fill before the deadline.
Applications are reviewed as they are received.
Late applications are considered on a space
available basis.
