Program Reconnects Alumni with HECUA
-Abroad Program Directors Reception kicked
off HECUAs commitment to reconnect
alumni to HECUA and improve our alumni
relations. Fifteen attended July event
which included an informal reception at
Intermedia Arts, followed by group dinners
for each program location at a local restaurant.
Alumni
solicitation has brought contributions
of nearly $1,100. Response meets expectations
for HECUAs first foray into offering
the opportunity to give financially to

Alumni
travel programs launched with a trip
to Guatemala in June 2004. Michael Eaton
and Martha Malinski led a 10-day learning
and travel excursion to Guatemala. Highlights
included a site visit to Common Hope and
discussions with local social justice activists.

Upcoming travel programs for alumni (&
friends) will be Northern Ireland 2005
and Norway 2006.
HECUA
Receives Grant for Alumni Relations
- HECUA received an organizational effectiveness
program grant from the Otto Bremer Foundation
to strengthen its alumni relations and
widen the circle of support for HECUA.
The grant builds on our long-standing
partnership with Bremer and will strengthen
our organizational capacity in substantive
ways.
