HECUA Spanish Language Assessment

Basic Spanish Language Assessment

Required for all applicants to HECUA's program Community Internships in Latin America (CILA). The program is based in Quito, Ecuador. Students live full-time with a host family, intern with a local organization three days a week, and attend classes conducted entirely in Spanish (often with guest speakers from community organizations). Students complete assignments in Spanish.

Compared to other students you have known, please assess this student's Spanish language ability in the areas of reading, comprehension of academic lectures, conversational comprehension, conversational speaking, and writing.

Below, pull-down menus will offer you the options "excellent," "above average," "average," "weak," or "the student has no experience in this area."

In the "Comments" box, please feel free to elaborate on any of the student's abilities in any of the categories.

Thank you. HECUA seeks to create learning communities for effective experiential education abroad, and appreciates the time you've spent on this assessment. HECUA may contact you if questions come up, or to verify your assessment.
