HECUA HIGHLIGHT

WILLIAMS COLLEGE JOINS HECUA CONSORTIUM -- Williams College (Williamstown, MA) has become the sixteenth member of the HECUA consortium. For several years, students from Williams have participated in HECUA programs. Becoming a member of the consortium gives faculty a more active voice in program decisions and Williams students will receive an $800 discount on HECUA semester programs overseas.

Founded in 1793, Williams College is a private, liberal arts college with approximately 2000 students. There are three academic curricular divisions: humanities, sciences, and social sciences with 24 departments and 31 majors. The student faculty ratio is 9:1 and median class size is 17.

Williams is located about 145 miles from Boston, MA. In January of 2001, Williams College partnered with HECUA for a J-Term course, Experiencing Guatemala: Politics, Society, and Culture at HECUA's Guatemala site.

Mark Reinhardt, Assistant Professor of Political Science, will serve as the first Williams representative on the HECUA Board of Directors.

Students from any college may participate in HECUA programs.
