HECUA -- Professional Education -- Custom Workshops

HECUA works with individual campuses and other organizations to design mobile workshops that explore economic development issues, environmental policy and land-use, and public art in the metropolitan area.

HECUA also designs campus workshops related to course development, pedagogy, and community-based learning. Some of these topics have included:

* Best practices in community organizing and experiential learning

* Teaching skills for social change

* Educational approaches to diversity and democracy

* Strategies for integrating theory with practice

* Designing courses for civic learning

* Building and sustaining community – college partnerships

* Field experience as tool for critical thinking

* Designing effective internships and evaluating learning

Any of the workshops in the professional education series can be customized for specific courses, conferences, or campus projects. For more information contact Jackie Geier, Director of Programs at [email protected] or call 651-287-3306.
