HECUA -- Student Resources -- Programs -- Development and Community in Bangladesh -- Courses

HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE
Field experiences and internships provide an opportunity to see social change in progress. The first half of the term (centered in Dhaka) will focus on the culture and history of the region as you gain various perspectives on sustainable development in a developing country. During the remaining weeks, students will have their choice of an internship or field study with twice monthly gatherings for reflection on the field experience/internship. Students will have the option to do field study or internships in Dhaka or in rural villages.

SETTING
Bordering India, Bangladesh is a young, predominantly Muslim nation state. Bangladesh offers a chance to witness the moderate practice of Islam and understand how poverty can offer an opportunity for dialogue, not violence.
