HECUA's new look--logo and Web site
HECUA has been busy this summer undergoing significant updates to our branding. For those of us who have been "in the family" for thirty plus years, we're still the same HECUA, offering quality off-campus study programs focused on social and environmental justice issues, we just look different now. We have a new logo, color pallet, program guide, print materials, and Web site.
Probably the most significant piece in the suite of new materials is the logo itself. Of course this image will mean different things to different audiences, but to us it represents the student. Students are of course at the core of our community work and programs. They are the driving force in our efforts to organize and build movements. They are the ones who bring passion and energy and who live our mission of building strong democracies and just societies. Because of them we call this new logo “passionate student.” This logo is an exploration of students experiencing a new vision of how their life work will find its place in the world. The flames convey fervor, while also representing knowledge. It’s all about being “on fire” for an idea, or the pursuit of justice. Also, in this new logo the letters of HECUA’s name intentionally open up into the space surrounding the image to say, HECUA is the community around us and that we extend beyond borders.
In HECUA's forty year history, this is only the forth logo used, so around every decade HECUA freshens up. We hope you enjoy this new look, and find the Web site easy to nagivate. Direct any questions to HECUA's Marketing and Recruitment Manager, Mary Delorié.
