1 of 1 reflection

There are lots of experiences that come to mind at my internship at KFAI radio. Every day was a surprising new experience. One of the coolest things that I did was collaborate on a radio project with other City Arts kids. For their group study project, a few of the girls put together a youth cabaret and they had me come and record audio. Some of the show was controversial, so I did an in-studio interview with a couple of the girls and put it together with sound from the show and we aired it on the news. That was a fun collaboration to do.

And there were tons of other amazing experiences and challenges. I interviewed the president of Human Rights Watch. I went to more protests than I can count. I got to go to D.C. for the April 20th protests. I interviewed people from Ramallah, the day the borders were closed. I interviewed the attorney for the detainees at Guantanamo Bay. I spent lots of time at the capitol covering different legislation. I even got on the cover of “Pulse,” sticking my microphone in someone’s face. I met Danny Glover, and I just generally got to report on news that I care about, and that other news outlets don’t care about.
